My creative work is focused on relief prints and charcoal drawings. What attracts me to these mediums is the organized mess and uncertainty of the finished product. My work reflects my collection of experiences in the United States, as I merge my upbringing in Guatemala and connect its cultural values to my current life in America, connecting the uniqueness that reflects the way I have seen life from both worlds. With this linocut series, titled “Flor entre muchas”, I sought to bring attention to the important value of resting in who you are, not seeking to be unique, but being beautifully yourself, which adds to the collective beauty around us.
