2019
Sheet metal, liquid latex, a disassembled saxophone, steel rods, and covered with a copper patina
Approx. 4' in length, displayed 6' high

The work is a representation of my struggle with comprehending cancer and it's affects on my family members and myself. Several family members have battled cancer, and doctors have found cancer cells in my body as well. While, I am fine for the moment, my family members battled it with chemo and radiation. This work is a representation of their strength shining through the ugliness of cancer and its treatment. The saxophone is a shining resilient instrument in the web of a disfigured membranous substance encased by metal.
