Sarah Hess
Sarah Hess is a Rhode Island based artist and art educator with a passion for several different craft mediums, including block printing, jewelry design, ceramics, and botanical illustration. But no matter the medium Sarah draws inspiration from the forms, color and textures found in the natural world.
Sarah holds a MA in art education and undergraduate degrees in Art Education and Studio Ceramics from Rhode Island College. You can find Sarah’s work on display at Rhode Island artist co-op galleries, Made in Warren, and The Hotpoint Emporium, as well as at Studio Hop, Providence, RI. Sarah has exhibited her block print works at numerous juried art shows and New England galleries.
Sarah has had a long career as an Elementary Art teacher and now serves as Adjunct Faculty and college supervisor for the art education program at Rhode Island College. Additionally, she enjoys teaching summer classes for the RISD Young Artists Program and the Wickford Arts Association.
Sarah lives in the East Bay of RI and is happiest when creating and spending time exploring the natural world with her husband and their young daughter.
